WORKING PLAN STAGE 2 2016

Objective 1

Synthesis of undoped and doped ZnSnano-particle (NP-ZnS) by ultrasound/microwave-assisted method. (continued from 2015).

Activities:
  • Determination of optimal condition for synthesis of NP-ZnS (surfactant type, reactants concentration, pH, ultrasound time).
  • Preparation of NP-ZnS doped with Mn and/or Cu and/or Ag and/or Eu and/or Ce.
  • General and structural characterization of NP-ZnS using FT-IR, SEM/TEM, BET, ICP-OES, PSD and XRD.
  • Characterization by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) of NP-ZnS.

Objective 2

Synthesis of undoped and doped CuInS2 nano-particle (NP-CIS) by ultrasound/microwave-assisted method.

Activities:
  • Preliminary experiments for synthesis of NP-CIS.
  • Studies regarding the effect of Cu-In ratio on NP-CIS preparation.
  • Preparation of NP-CIS doped with Mn and/or Ag and/or Eu and/or Ce.
  • Characterization of NP-CIS using FT-IR, TGA-DTA, SEM/TEM, BET, ICP-OES, PSD and PL.

Objective 3

Preparation of undoped and doped CuInS2/ZnS (CIS/ZnS) core/shell nano-particle by ultrasound-assisted method.

Activities:
  • Synthesis of undoped CIS/ZnS core/shell nano-particle.
  • Tuning the PL emission by variation of the shell thickness.
  • Studies on the doping effect on CIS/ZnS core/shell nano-particle using different ions (Mn and/or Cu and/or Ag and/or Eu and/or Ce).
  • Morphological and structural characterization of CIS/ZnS nano-particles.
  • PL characterization of CIS/ZnS materials.

Objective 4

Preparation of undoped and doped ZnS/CuInS2 (ZnS/CIS) core/shell nano-particle by ultrasound-assisted method. (is continued also in 2017).

Activities:
  • Synthesis of undoped ZnS/CIS core/shell nano-particle.

RESULTS AND DISSEMINATION

Activities regarding:

  • Preparation of manganese doped zinc sulfide by simultaneous addition of reagents (SimAdd) in presence of ultrasound;
  • Morpho-strucutral characterization of ZnS:Mn2+;
  • Photoluminescent characterization of ZnS:Mn2+;
  • Preparation of copper-indium sulfide by SimAdd in presence of ultrasound;
  • Morpho-strucutral characterization of copper-indium sulfide.
  • Preparation of core/shell particle by SimAdd in presence of ultrasound;
  • Morpho-strucutral characterization of core/shell.
